Privacy Policy
How japanesewritingpractice.com handles your data, cookies, and analytics. This page explains what we collect and why.
Last updated: August 2026
1. Who we are
Japanesewritingpractice.com is operated by the site owner (referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”). This website offers educational content, free downloads, and links to print-on-demand workbooks for Japanese writing practice.
2. Data we process
We aim to keep data collection to the minimum needed to operate the site. In general, you can browse Japanesewritingpractice.com without revealing personal data. The following processing may occur:
- Server logs: The hosting provider automatically stores technical connection data (IP address, browser type, timestamp) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. These logs are typically deleted after a short period.
- Analytics: If analytics is enabled, we use aggregated, pseudonymized usage statistics (page views, device type, approximate region) to understand how content is used. We do not use analytics to build personal profiles.
- External links: Workbook purchase buttons link to third-party retailers such as Amazon. Once you leave our site, the privacy policy of that provider applies.
- Stroke-order animations: When you open a character animation, the SVG file is loaded on demand from the jsDelivr CDN (animCJK project). Your IP address is transmitted to that CDN for this request. No cookies are set in the process.
3. Cookies
This website does not set any cookies. We use no advertising, tracking or cross-site technologies, and no consent banner is required. Fonts are hosted locally on our own servers, so no data is sent to Google Fonts or other font CDNs when you load a page.
4. Print-on-demand purchases
When you buy a workbook via an external retailer, the order is processed by that retailer (for example, Amazon). We do not receive or store your payment details or shipping address. The retailer's privacy policy governs any personal data you submit there.
5. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (for example, under the EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we keep personal data to a minimum, most requests can be answered quickly.
6. Contact
For any privacy question or rights request, please contact us at the address listed in the Imprint.
